Local networks of high quality, integrated services that support families and young people at risk.

Overview

Family Support Networks are a key component within the suite of services in the Building Safe and Strong Families: Earlier Intervention and Family Support Strategy. Family Support Networks are a partnership of community sector services and the Department of Communities. Family Support Network’s deliver earlier, targeted support to families so they can keep their children safely at home.

Through the Earlier Intervention and Family Support Strategy, the FSN model has been enhanced and expanded to cover the metropolitan area. In addition to the current Assessment and Coordination service, the Lead Agency also provides an Intensive Case Management service for families referred by the Department. The enhanced Family Support Networks are culturally appropriate and prioritise the needs of Aboriginal families.
